Report a lost or Stolen U.S. Visa

To report a lost or stolen visa you must:

  1. File a report with the Syrian Police as soon as the passport with the U.S. visa is lost or stolen
  2. Immediately, after obtaining the police report, come to the information window of the consular section between the hours of 11:30 and 13:30, Sunday through Thursday.

You must bring:

  • Original police report
  • Copy of police report
  • Photo ID
  • A document issues by the Directorate of Immigration and Passports that contains exit and entry information from and to Syria.

The consular section will retain the copy of the police report and will return the original police report with a consulate stamp.  We strongly recommend that you retain the stamped original copy for your records.  You should present this document when you apply for another U.S. visa.

Please note that in order to receive a new visa after filing a report with the consular section, all applicants must come for an interview.  The purpose of this interview is to establish that applicants are not intending immigrants, and that they will depart the United States after their temporary stay.  During the interview, the applicant will be asked for information and documentation verifying income, property, family ties, and purpose of trip to the United States.
